Temporary or One-Time Budget

I would love the option where for a “temporary budget” for things like trips or christmas presents, etc. These are things that I’ve saved up for that only happen a couple
times a year. For instance if I go on a two week trip I could make a new budget, set the dates (i.e. May 30-June 16) and then within this new temporary budget I could have categories like food, lodging, plane tickets, gas, etc. But it would all be separate from my normal budget and it would be so nice!!
Another example: at Christmastime while I’m shopping I could make a new temporary budget from Oct-Dec for $500 and it could track shopping in that budget without messing up my normal month to month budget.
This would really help me stay on track with my normal monthly budget while planning for other expenses.

Temporary Trip Budgets

Would be great to allow for buckets for trips / vacations. I have a travel budget, but it would be nice to bucket by trip. You can do it now, but then the budgets stay there forever. Wish there was a better way to group the trips in a way that doesn’t stay in your overall budgets. If you go on 10 trips, that’s a lot of stuff filling up your screen

Posting a comment on behalf of a user: "Totally agree! I want the exact same feature you are talking about Ryan. Right now I create a trip in my travel category (ex. France 2023) and any expenses related to that trip I assign to that bucket. I also set a budget for the entire trip so I can keep track of it. Problem is at the end of each year, I will have more and more of these singular trips clogging up my Travel Category. As a workaround, once the trip is over, I go through each transaction and reassign to my general Flights/Hotels/Experiences etc. categories but make sure to add a section in the notes that explains what trip that expense was from. That way if I ever want to look back I can just search the key word in the Transactions tab and find all those corresponding expenses. Its a bit more labor intensive than I would like, hopefully Copilot can find a better solution."

One time budget

One time budget categories for things that only happen in one particular month. I hesitate to make new budget categories because I dislike how they will show up in all previous and future months, when really they are only relevant to one month. Right now my work around is to have a few budget categories that I rename each month for unique budget categories to the month. This isn’t ideal when looking into previous month’s budgets and not knowing what the budget category was for that month.

I’d like to be able to set aside part of my budget for a one-time expense I already know I will have. For example, I know I will be paying a school fee for a few thousand dollars at the end of the month. It fits in my budget as planned but I don’t want it to appear as though that money is available to be spent. I would like it to be calculated and unavailable funds like recurring items that have not been paid yet.

Expected non-recurring expenses

I would like to be to add in and easily view expected non-recurring expenses (e.g. I know I will have to buy plane tickets next months, or I have budgeted X dollars for Xmas gifts in December)
