Financial Coaching

One of my favorite Copilot experiences has been when Olivia has helped me figure out how to categorize certain transactions in a way that works for me.
This got me thinking: it would be amazing to have a tier of Copilot that has access to a financial coach/advisor in chat/call.
Someone to go through your goals, transactions, recurring charges, subscriptions, monthly grocery spend, etc. to give you tips and tricks to store in your personal finance arsenal.
For example - “Your grocery spend seems high for a single person across Copilot data. Is there anything you can do to reduce that spend by 10% this month?”
“You spend an average of X at restaurants each month. Did you know this card gives you 2x points at restaurants?”
“It looks like there are options to save on this subscription if you bundle with this.”
Etc.
Not so much a financial advisor, more like a spending coach.

Wealth score

Cool Orca
Copilot should offer a welcome score: a financial-health checkup based on questions about your age, household size, income, spending, debts and assets. Your answers will be evaluated in two ways. First, they are compared to averages for U.S. households in similar circumstances, or “peer groups.” Second, your answers are evaluated against seven financial-wellbeing benchmarks related to spending, savings and assets. Your final WealthScore is an unweighted average of these benchmark scores.
See Bloomberg Wealth score as an example.

Integration with Language Learning Models
C
Coral Silverfish
Currently, data is viewed through charts, numbers, and data. What if you could converse with your personal finance? “How much did I make this month compared to last?” “In total, how much have I spent on my Netflix subscriptions this year?”, “If I lost my job today, how long would I survive on my current savings given my average spending habits?”
These are premature, and only break the ice in my view. Being able to converse with your personal coach who already has your personal finance connections would be a great premium feature, if you want to go that route.
In my view, incorporating a language learning model within CoPilot would be a large step towards a stronger user base. It’s no longer a utility, it’s a toolset.

Smart Guide for a budget based on user data
O
Olivia
If there’s anything I could think of to add to the app, it would be to add some guidance on actually creating a budget based on each user’s assets, debt, and income. Maybe a personalized guide based on how much you’re making, and how much debt you have? That was the only issue I had with the app. I have no idea how much I should be saving/spending, lol. You guys should look up Penny. If you haven’t heard of it, it used to be an app (before they sold out to Credit Karma) that talked to you about finances and broke everything down into easy to understand terms. It was my absolute favorite money management app until they shut it down. I would love a feature like that on Copilot. It would make this app the perfect money app.

Allow querying through natural language
W
Widespread Aardvark
It would be awesome to query transactions, patterns, trends, etc through natural language. With the recent release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT API, that might be relatively “easier” to do.
Some query examples:
- “How much did I spend last month?”
- “Which stocks returned the most YTD?”
- “Find duplicate/recurring transactions that aren’t yet marked as recurring.”
- “Which category’s spending has been steadily rising over the past year, even if it’s within the budget?”
